By
Test Kitchen
Summer 2009
Tender, thick-cut pork chops grilled and coated with a sweet and savory hoisin-mustard glaze. Served hot off the grill, they’re ideal for a backyard barbecue or weeknight dinner.

Total Time:
Yield:
6 servings

Ingredients

1⁄3 cup water

¼ cup packed brown sugar

¼ cup ketchup

¼ cup hoisin sauce

¼ cup Dijon-style mustard

2 tablespoons cider vinegar

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 whole green onions, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

6 large pork chops, cut 1½ inches thick

Directions

  1. In a small saucepan combine water, brown sugar, ketchup, hoisin sauce, mustard, vinegar, butter, onions and garlic. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and simmer about 5 minutes or until the consistency of barbeque sauce.
  2. Grill pork chops on an uncovered grill over high heat about 8 minutes per side, basting both sides with sauce until pork is tender and the chops are brown.
