Yield:
6 sandwiches
Ingredients
Salted butter, softened
12 slices white sandwich bread, crusts removed
12 slices sharp Cheddar cheese
18 slices thinly sliced deli ham
Directions
Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.
To assemble sandwiches, on a clean cutting board, place half of the bread slices, buttered sides down. Top each with 1 cheese slice, 3 ham slices and 1 cheese slice. Place a remaining bread slice, buttered side up, on top of each.
Heat a large skillet, griddle or panini grill pan over medium heat. Cook sandwiches for 3 to 4 minutes or until bottoms are golden. Turn sandwiches over and cook for 3 to 4 minutes more or until bottoms are golden and cheese melts. (If necessary, adjust heat to prevent overbrowning before cheese melts.)
