The Good Morning Breakfast Sandwich layers a cinnamon-spiced French toast with fluffy eggs, sautéed peppers, cheddar cheese, ham, avocado, and a touch of hot-pepper bacon jam. Finished with a dusting of powdered sugar, it’s the perfect blend of sweet and savory to start your day.

Ingredients

3 large eggs, divided

¼ cup milk

½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

2 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided

2 slices French bread

1 tablespoon diced white onion

1 tablespoon diced green bell pepper

1 tablespoon diced red bell pepper

2 slices Cheddar cheese

2 ounces thinly sliced deli ham

½ small avocado, seeded, peeled and sliced

2 tablespoons hot-pepper bacon jam

Powdered sugar

Directions

  1. In a small bowl whisk together 1 egg, milk and cinnamon.
  2. In a medium skillet melt 1 tablespoon butter over medium heat. Dip bread slices into egg mixture; place in hot skillet. Cook until golden, turning halfway through. Remove from skillet; set aside.
  3. In a small skillet melt remaining 1 tablespoon butter. Beat remaining 2 eggs; stir in onion and bell peppers. Add egg mixture to hot skillet; cook until eggs are set. Remove from skillet; cool.
  4. To assemble sandwich, layer cheese, egg patty, ham and avocado on one bread toast. Spread bacon jam onto remaining toast; place on top, jam side down. Sift powdered sugar on top.
