Kamut-Chive Drop Biscuits

Light, flavorful drop biscuits combining the nutty taste of Kamut flour with whole wheat and fresh chives. Crispy on the outside, tender inside, and ideal for serving with soups, stews, or as a savory snack.

Ingredients

Nonstick cooking spray

1 cup Kamut flour

1 cup whole wheat flour

1 tablespoon baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

½ cup cold butter

1 cup milk

3 tablespoons chopped fresh chives

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400ºF. Spray a baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, combine Kamut flour, whole wheat flour, baking powder and salt. With a pastry blender, cut in butter to form pea-size crumbs. Stir in milk and chives just until dry ingredients are moistened.
  3. Spoon batter into 8 mounds onto prepared baking sheet. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes or until golden brown.
