A crunchy mix of cereals, pretzels, and nuts is tossed in a sweet maple-brown sugar butter coating with savory seasoning for an irresistible sweet-and-salty snack.

Ingredients

2 cups Corn Chex

2 cups rye chips

2 cups Honey Nut Cheerios

1 cup mini pretzels

1⁄2 cup melted butter

1 cup brown sugar

1⁄3 cup maple syrup

1⁄2 tablespoon garlic salt

1⁄4 teaspoon soy sauce

2 cups mixed nuts (pecans, walnuts, raw almonds, blanched almonds)

⅓ cup maple syrup

⅛ teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 250°F. in a large bowl combine Chex cereal, rye chips, Cheerios and pretzels. In a medium microwave-safe bowl, melt butter. Add brown sugar, syrup, garlic salt and soy sauce. Mix well. Pour mixture onto dry cereal mix and combine evenly Spread onto a large baking sheet and bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes.
  2. For nut glaze, preheat skillet over a medium- high heat. Add nuts, maple syrup and salt. Stir frequently, until syrup is caramelized and nuts are toasted, about 3 minutes.
  3. When cereal mix is done baking, add glazed nuts and serve.
