1 (4½-ounce) boneless beef top loin steak, cut ¾ inch thick
Rub oil onto both sides of steak. Lightly sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Preheat grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Add steak; cook for 8 to 11 minutes or until steak reaches desired doneness (145°F for medium-rare or 160°F for medium), turning halfway through. Transfer steak to cutting board. Loosely cover with foil and let rest for 3 minutes.
