Add a touch of sparkle to your holiday desserts with these Sugared Cranberries! Fresh or frozen cranberries are coated in a simple sugar syrup, rolled in sugar, and left to dry into a sweet, decorative treat. Ideal for topping cakes, hot chocolate, cocktails, or even holiday cheese boards.

Ingredients

2 cups granulated sugar, divided

½ cup water

½ cups fresh or frozen cranberries

Directions

  1. In a small saucepan bring ½ cup sugar and water to boiling. Remove from heat and cool.
  2. Place remaining 1½ cups sugar in a rimmed baking pan. Stir cranberries into the cooled sugar liquid; toss until coated. Remove cranberries, in small batches, with a slotted spoon, then roll in the sugar to coat. Place coated cranberries on waxed paper; let dry at least 1 hour before using.
