This homemade corn broth is a light yet flavorful base made with cream-style corn, onion, celery, and aromatic spices. Perfect for enhancing soups, stews, and chowders, it delivers a naturally sweet, comforting flavor that elevates any dish.

Ingredients

7 cups water

1 (14.75-ounce) can cream-style corn

1 medium onion, peeled and halved

1 cup chopped celery

¼ cup whole peppercorns

3 cloves garlic, crushed

1 bay leaf

1 teaspoon kosher salt

Directions

  1. In a large pot, combine water and cream-style corn. Add onion, celery, peppercorns, garlic, bay leaf and salt. Bring to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer, covered, for 20 minutes.
  2. Cool and strain before using; discard solids.
