Yield:
6 servings

Ingredients

Nonstick cooking spray

½ recipe Traditional Hand-Tossed Pizza Dough

7 mozzarella cheese sticks, cut in half

1 recipe No-Cook Red Pizza Sauce

1 (8-ounce) package shredded mozzarella cheese

12 ounces sliced pepperoni; assorted sizes, if desired

½ cup slivered red onion

½ cup matchstick-cut green bell peppers

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°F. Lightly spray a 12-inch-round pizza pan or baking sheet with cooking spray; set aside.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough into a 13-inch round. Transfer dough round to prepared pizza pan or baking sheet. Place mozzarella cheese stick pieces about ½ inch from edge. Roll edge of dough up and around cheese pieces; press dough to seal cheese sticks in place. Slightly pull the crust into a 12-inch round on the pizza pan or baking sheet, if necessary.
  3. Set aside ½ cup pizza sauce. Spread remaining sauce on crust up to the cheese edge. Sprinkle with shredded mozzarella cheese; top with pepperoni, red onion and green bell pepper.
  4. Bake for 20 minutes or until edges are golden, rotating pizza pan or baking sheet halfway through. Cool for 5 minutes. Cut into wedges and serve with reserved pizza sauce for dipping crust edges.
