Ingredients
28 (5-inch) peppermint candy sticks, divided
3 ounces white chocolate, coarsely chopped
½ teaspoon pure peppermint extract
1 recipe Holiday Eggnog
Directions
- Break up 12 peppermint sticks and place in a food processor. Cover and pulse until finely crushed. Transfer crushed candy to a fine-mesh sieve to remove candy dust. Transfer crushed candy to a shallow dish; set aside.
- Place white chocolate in a heatproof bowl. Set bowl over a saucepan of simmering water until chocolate is melted, stirring occasionally. Remove bowl from saucepan; cool for 3 to 5 minutes.
- Dip rims of 8 (8-ounce) mugs into melted chocolate, then into crushed candy. Refrigerate for 5 minutes or until set.
- Just before serving, stir peppermint extract into the chilled egg yolk mixture, then fold in beaten egg whites.
- To serve, ladle eggnog into peppermint-rimmed mugs. Sprinkle with crushed candy and garnish each with 2 peppermint sticks.
